Publication updates in the REALM library

The past few months have been very productive for the REALM partners with a few new publications being published.

We updated our website with a new Publications web page. This dedicated section will serve as a central hub for all the research, articles, and publications produced by REALM partners that focus on our research.

Over the past few months, we’ve seen some significant contributions from our partners, resulting in several publications that delve into various aspects of our project. The latest paper titled "Optimizing Melanoma Prognosis Through Synergistic Preprocessing and Deep Learning Architecture for Dermoscopic Thickness Prediction" was co-written by our partner Nikos Ntampakis from MetaMind Innovations, along with co-authors Konstantinos Diamantaras, Kostas Goulianas, Ioanna Chouvarda, Vasilis A. and Panagiotis Sarigiannidis.

Nikos Ntampakis presented the paper at the 28th UK Conference on Medical Image Understanding and Analysis (MIUA) at Manchester Metropolitan University. The paper introduces an innovative approach to predicting melanoma thickness using advanced image processing techniques and deep learning algorithms. Achieving an impressive accuracy of 88.89% and an F1 score of 88.65%, the model signifies a substantial advancement in non-invasive melanoma analysis, potentially leading to more timely and accurate clinical interventions.
