Update on the AI Act Agreement

On Wednesday, the European Parliament approved the Artificial Intelligence Act that ensures safety and compliance with fundamental rights, while boosting innovation.

The draft AI act, which will be the world's first binding horizontal regulation on AI, creates a comprehensive framework for the use and provision of AI systems within the EU.

However, the AI act's journey is not yet complete. It must also secure endorsement from the Council and be published in the EU's Official Journal before it can come into effect.
